Born in Willi Studer’s Swiss workshops at the turn of the 1970s, the A101 owes its spirit to engineer Paul Zwicky, who gave this tiny amplifier a strength far beyond its size. Hidden at the heart of the legendary A80 tape machines and the 089 and 189 consoles, it carried the voices of countless recordings and broadcasts, and a whole era of analog sound.
